Privacy

CommodityNode works without an account, advertising identifier, or optional measurement. Necessary storage remembers only the privacy choice you make.

Data the site receives

Hosting and security providers may process ordinary request data such as IP address, user agent, requested path, time, and error details. These records support delivery, abuse prevention, and incident response. CommodityNode does not create an account or advertising profile from a public research visit.

Optional aggregate measurement

If you allow analytics, the browser may send a bounded event name, product surface, route type, and approved placement label. The event excludes email, name, account or session identifiers, free text, URL queries, and referrer. Events are stored only as daily aggregate counters and expire after 400 days. Declining analytics does not reduce access or functionality.

Advertising

Advertising is currently disabled site-wide. The advertising preference is a fail-closed control for future, manually reviewed inventory; choosing it does not load an ad today. CommodityNode will not enable advertising until the provider, retention terms, jurisdictional consent requirements, and eligible page list are documented and tested.

Newsletter and brief requests

The Weekly Commodity Impact Brief uses double opt-in. A confirmation that is not completed is deleted after 30 days. An active address is retained until it is unsubscribed; unsubscribing immediately removes the address from the subscription record, and the remaining withdrawal marker is deleted after 30 days.

A custom exposure brief request stores the submitted contact details, organization, selected commodities, decision context, consent record, and workflow status for up to two years. The request form is not a secure channel and should not contain confidential, regulated, or market-sensitive information.

Signed-in product data

A signed-in account may store saved commodities, companies and routes, alert rules, and alert-delivery records. These records are scoped to the identity-provider account and are not used for advertising. CommodityNode does not receive the account password.

In Live settings, a signed-in user can download a JSON copy or permanently delete CommodityNode product data. Deletion also removes brief requests matching the account email and anonymizes any newsletter record. A pseudonymous export or deletion audit containing record counts, not the deleted content, is retained for seven years and then pruned.

Your controls

You can reject optional storage on the first prompt or reopenprivacy settingsat any time. A new consent-policy version invalidates the previous choice and asks again.

Newsletter messages include an unsubscribe link. Account export and deletion are available in CommodityNode Live under Settings.

Contact and corrections

Privacy or source-attribution issues can be reported through thecontact channels. Do not include personal, confidential, or regulated information in a public issue.
